How to Manage ER Passport Alerts

This help desk article will show you all of the various alerts associated with ER Passport. All of these alerts can be customized.

If you are a manager and wish to be alerted every time a referral comes in, skip to this section to learn how to set an 'Alert Destination': How to set an ER Passport Alert Destination for Referral Confirmation

To edit your alerts:

  1. Go to Global Settings Alert Templates.
  2. Find the template you wish to edit > double-click on it to open up the respective modal.
  3. In the top right corner of the modal, toggle to 'Custom'
  4. Edit the template to your desire and press 'Save'.

To turn on/off an alert:

  1. Go to Global Settings Alert Templates.
  2. Find the template you wish to turn on/off > click on the corresponding green or gray dot directly to the left of the template's ID.
  3. If the dot shows as green, this means the template is turned on. If the dot shows as gray, this means the template is disabled.

Referral Confirmation 38 Fax This alert is sent as a fax to your facility when a new referral patient is confirmed for your facility.

{REFERRING_CLINIC} has submitted an ER Passport referral to {HOSPITAL_NAME}.

 

 

  • Patient: {PATIENT_NAME}
  • ETA: {REFERRAL_ETA} on {REFERRAL_DATE}
  • Referring Provider: {REFERRING_PROVIDER}

Referral Disposition 39 Email This alert is sent as an email to the referring provider when a new referral patient is confirmed for your facility.

{REFERRING_PROVIDER},

 

You referred a patient to the {HOSPITAL_NAME} ED using ER Passport on {DATE}.  

 

 

  • The patient's disposition was: {PATIENT_DISPOSITION}.
  • The referring provider was: {REFERRING_PROVIDER}

Referral Disposition 40 Text Message This alert is sent as a text message to the referring provider when a new referral patient is confirmed for your facility. You referred a patient to the {HOSPITAL_NAME} ED using ER Passport on {DATE}. The patient's disposition is {PATIENT_DISPOSITION}.
Referral Confirmation 41 Email This alert is sent as an email to the patient when they have been confirmed for your facility.

This email confirms your referral to {CLIENT_NAME}.

 

Important: this referral does not guarantee when you will be treated.  Patients are treated based on medical need, not arrival their time.

  • Referring clinic: {REFERRING_CLINIC}
  • Referring provider: {REFERRING_PROVIDER}

Referral Confirmation 42 Text Message This alert is sent as a text message to the patient when they have been confirmed for your facility. This text confirms that you have been referred to {HOSPITAL_NAME}. This referral is to help the staff prepare for your arrival and does not mean that you will jump to the front of the line.
RFR Update 43 Email This alert is sent as an email to the patient when they have been moved to the second column of the queue (usually called the "Ready for Room" column).

The staff at {CLIENT_NAME} have reviewed your referral from {REFERRING_CLINIC} and are preparing for your arrival.

 

When you arrive, please tell the front desk that you have an ER Passport referral.

How to set an ER Passport Alert Destination for Referral Confirmation

Step 1: Navigate to Global SettingsAlert Destinations.

Step 2: Click the blue plus button in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Select 'ER Passport' as the Module. Select 'Referral Confirmation' as the Alert Trigger. Choose whether you want the alert to be sent as an email, text message (SMS), phone call (voice), or a Fax under Alert Type. Enter the phone number, fax number, or email address you would like the alert to be sent to under Destination. Enter a Destination name to help you keep track of your destinations.
